My mind goes "wheee"!

I'll probably never be one of those big, successful bloggers.  Oops, maybe I shouldn't write that cause then that's what I'm putting out there in the universe so it might come true.  What?  Nevermind.

Why won't I be successful?  One, and I think I've probably mentioned this before, I'm lazy.  We don't have to go into that in much detail now but yep, it's true.  But I think my second reason is the one that is doing the most damage.  I don't know what to write about.  I get these inspirations and I put out a really great (in my opinion) blog post and then I feel completely, utterly spent.  It takes me days to come up with another inspiration.

I've read successful blogs and most of them will tell you that you should schedule your posts.  Get a calendar, write down a subject on a date, and then write it out and send it.  I've done this.  But for me what usually happens is I'll look at my posting calendar, stare at it for a minute or two, then say "uh huhhhhh, let me go play a few minutes of Farmville and I'll come back to this."

I evidently get lost on my farm and can't find my way back.  My mind just goes "wheeee" and nothing gets done.  Why?

Does this happen to any of you other bloggers?  Do you just give yourself a mean ole reprimand and make yourself sit down and write?  Maybe I need to put myself on restriction.  How will I survive though?  All my Farmville crops will wither and die!

  1. I just take pictures of my kids, and that usually inspires my posts. I don't think it out very much and I don't have time to write, so most of my posts are done very quickly! I would do terribly with a "schedule" it would take all the fun out of it for sure!

Happy farming!! I am still a "Farmtown" girl, is Farmville better?? :-)

  2. To Mighty M...

I guess since Farmville was the game I started on, I like it better. And I like the graphics better than FarmTown. I've just started on my FarmTown so my opinion may change.

  3. Thank you for saying this! I'm so glad to find I'm not the only one who finds themselves utterly wordless when faced with their blog. I'd love to have one of those brilliant, witty, important blogs, but I can't even settle on one theme, let alone anything important.

Now, it's about time to go check on my green cows (or bovines) and crop circles...

  4. I have the same problem of being utterly spent after (what I think is) a particularly good post. But my idea of a good post hardly eer generates any interest. And people don't read long posts, Which a lot of mine are. And I don't have a 'niche', so I think people find my blog a little too "all-over-the-place" for their tastes. But? I'm writing for me, and to that, I've held firm.
