Hi Mommy! Nanny gave me M&Ms!
Can I have some more?
What do you mean there aren't any more?
*P.S. Thanks, Mom, for taking the time to take pictures of my meltdown instead of rushing out for more M&Ms.

The Oinky Snots
I haven't been able to update a lot in the past week due to The Bean being sick. She started running a fever of 102 to 103 and I couldn't get it to dip down at all. This started late Monday evening and she was whiny and restless all night with a slight cough. We visited the doctor on Tuesday and she was tested for the dreaded Oinky Snots a/k/a the Swine Flu.
Her results came back negative, and she was negative for strep as well. Thank God. But this is what the doctor told me that didn't really make me feel much better. All of the little kids Bean's age that had come in with similar symptoms as hers had all tested negative for the flu. But all of the older kids that had come in WITH THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS had all tested positive. That sounds fishy to me, or in this case, piggy.
How can they all have the same symptoms but one age group is positive and the other negative?
I dunno. But I do know that all Bean wanted was her "ba-ba" and to be held. Constantly. So for the next two days we took a step or twelve backward in the "say bye-bye to Ba-Ba" program and we were constantly attached at the hip. But now that she's getting older and more independent, I'll take my snuggles how ever I can get them. I just wished she didn't have to be sick to be so dang loving.
Did The Bean have the Oinky Snots? I doubt it.
From reading other people's accounts of it, I don't think her symptoms were bad enough for it to be swine flu.
But the fever has gone away and so have most of the snuggles. We are back to getting into everything and my voice is starting to get hoarse again from yelling "What did I say? Didn't I say no?"

Etsy.com - wonderful and weird handmade all in the same place.
Have you ever visited etsy.com? If you haven't, you really should take a few minutes and stop by. Etsy is an online marketplace for handmade items. You can find everything there - clothes, accessories, home decor, all kinds of things. For Bean's first birthday, I had this made for her from an etsy vendor, TheSewingChic.
But mixed in with all the beautiful handmade items, you can also find some weird stuff. And I mean WEIRD. Stuff like this...
Does this freak anyone else out? It sure does me. It's called a keepsake box. Let me just tell you, any keepsakes I have I don't want them in that box. No...thank...you.
And to have the gall to charge someone $125 for it is crazy. But what might be crazier is someone paying $125 for it. If this can be sold, I got some stuff left over from third grade arts and crafts that I maybe should put up for sale.
